Whilst officers from the Urban Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) were on routine patrol, they came across a man acting suspicious near an address on Bennethorpe, Doncaster.

They stopped the man and immediately smelt cannabis on him; they searched him under the misuse of drugs act and arrested him for possession of a controlled drug. Under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act, they also searched the house on Bennethorpe where they had seen the man come from. Nineteen small bags and one large bag were found containing cannabis, approximately around £500 worth.

Four people from the house, two men and two women, were arrested for possession with intent to supply controlled drugs. All five people are on police bail pending further enquiries.

PC Martyn Micklethwaite from the SNT said: "Drugs play a big part in criminal activity often with crimes being committed to fund habits. The

SNT are committed to removing drugs from the streets and will always listen to the publics concerns. Anyone found committing drug offences will be dealt with appropriately."
