Police appeal for help in tracing car Bawtry serious assault E-mail

bawtry-car-traceSouth Yorkshire Police are trying to trace the driver of a car that was seen in the Total Garage forecourt on High Street in Bawtry, between two minutes past midnight and 12.10am on New Year’s Day.

Officers believe the people in the car at that location would have had sight of the incident and may be able to help with the investigation.

Thirty-five-year-old Iain Eldridge from Auckley remains in a critical condition, suffering from a serve head injury in Royal Hallamshire Hospital, after the incident in the early hours of New Year's Day on Station Road, Bawtry, Doncaster.
He was with his girlfriend outside a hairdressers on Station Road, at just after midnight when he was assaulted.

A 21-year-old man was charged with Section 20 grievous bodily harm. Bawtry man,
Paul Oakden is remanded in custody, next due to be heard at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 17 January.

Anyone who can identify the car and/or the people in it are asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 87 of Sunday, 1 January 2012.
