Rotherham OAP dies after collision E-mail

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after an elderly pedestrian died 12 days following a collision at Thurcroft, near Rotherham.

The incident happened at 9.39am on Thursday, 29 December, outside a kebab shop at Green Arbour Road, around 40 metres past the junction with Katherine Street when travelling towards Dinnington,

The man, an 85-year-old from the local area, is believed to have begun to cross Green Arbour Road from behind a parked vehicle when he was in collision with a red Toyota Auris, which was travelling in the Dinnington direction.

The man, who crossed from the driver’s nearside, suffered multiple injuries and was taken to Rotherham District General Hospital, where he died yesterday, 10 January.

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information about the collision to ring 101 and quote incident number 193 of 29 December, 2011.
