South Yorkshire Police are appealing for information after a 21-year-old man suffered serious injuries, last night on Whinby Road in Barnsley.
At 9.45pm on Thursday, 19 January, a blue Ford Ka, was travelling along Whinby Road towards to M1 motorway, when it struck the man who was crossing Whinby Road towards Dodworth.
The 21-year-old man, from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, sustained a fractured skull and is being treated in Barnsley District General Hospital.
The 41-year-old woman, driving the car, was from Wakefield and was not reported to have been hurt.
Officers would like to hear from anyone in the area at the time, who may
have witnessed the collision, or the movements of the pedestrian or car prior to it.
Anyone with information is asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 1060 of the 19 January.
