Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash on the A1M at the weekend which left a young woman with life-threatening injuries.
The incident happened at 4.48pm on Saturday, 21 January, on the southbound carriageway near to Tickhill, Doncaster.
A black Ford Ka, driven by the woman, was travelling in lane one when it apparently veered into lane two, near the central reservation. The car then seemed to spin out of control across to the hard shoulder where it hit the nearside crash barrier, before rolling along a grass banking and finally coming to rest in the centre of the carriageway.
The woman, a 20-year-old from the March area of Cambridgeshire, suffered life-threatening internal, hip and
rib injuries. She was taken to St James Hospital, Leeds, where she is currently detained.
South Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident. Anyone with information should call 101 and quote incident number 836 of 21 January, 2012.
